Something about CHATEAU DE CAMENSAC 2010
Barely extracted from its baptismal font, this 2010 Camensac has a naturally very dark colour whence a luminous purple sheen comes to the fore. Without stirring the wine: a very sharp nose with vivid red fruit primary notes, slighty tinted with new wood. When stirring the wine, these primary notes gain strength and rise up with peppery tones. The attack, is very neat.
When in the mouth its tannins are velvety and reveal a thin and elegant weft. Its body is full, gaining more volume in mid-mouth. The Royal Ann cherry is distinctly present with the
black pepper becoming clearer. The final is compact and completes the general impression of a complex wine bringing to the fore an utterly feminine strength, with suppleness in the form
along with an unfailing tenacity.

Tasted blind at the Southwold Bordeaux 2010 tasting. The Chateau Camensac 2010 has a tightly wound bouquet with blackberry, wild hedgerow, cedar and cigar box scents that demand coaxing. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, chalky tannins. There are plenty of potent tobacco notes here with a touch of spice on the finish. It is a little introverted at the moment, this should develop nicely with several years in the cellar. Tasted January 2014.
