Something about Chateau Poujeaux
With a wine making history dating to the 19th century, Chateau Poujeaux can be considered a “young” estate in Bordeaux but has earned a reputation in its own right. French President Georges Pompidou was a particular fan or the Moulis-en-Medoc estate and was known to serve it at the Elysée Palace. Today, the Cuvelier family, owners of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Clos Fourtet, have acquired the chateau, injecting a new passion and energy into winemaking at the estate. Poujeaux’s 68 hectares are planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot.

This is a complex wine that's dry at the heart and powered with dark tannins. Slowly the juicy fruit shows through on the mid palate, yielding a wine that offers the potential of solid fruits and excellent acidity.
Fleshy and compact, offering dark plum and black currant paste flavors lined with briar, ganache and roasted tobacco leaf. Shows solid grip and depth.

A polished and complex red with spice, berry and chocolate character. Full body, velvety tannins and a long and intense finish. Better in 2017.
