Domaine Georges Noëllat, located in Vosne-Romanée, is now helmed by Maxime Cheurlin, whose debut vintage was 2010. Prior to this, he apprenticed at Gros Frère et Sœur in 2008, and in 2009, he joined his cousin, Emmanuel Rouget, at the Rouget family estate. To some extent, Maxime Cheurlin has also demonstrated a style similar to that of the Rouget family. The grapes are hand-harvested, typically destemmed, with minimal pressing and a gentle extraction. Maxime Cheurlin uses 30% to 100% new oak barrels for aging, depending on the region and vintage, for a typical aging period of 14 to 20 months. The wines are neither fined nor filtered before bottling, resulting in powerful yet elegant and refined wines that have earned the acclaim of wine professionals and aficionados alike.
