Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur is a Burgundy wine producer based in Vosne-Roman?e. It makes a range of Pinot Noir-based wines from some of the region’s top vineyards, including the grands crus Richebourg, Echezeaux, Grands ?chezeaux and Clos de Vougeot. The domaine also makes white and red Hautes Cotes de Nuits wines, and wines from several premier cru vineyards in Vosne-Romanee. Gros Frere et Soeur has its origins in the 1963 division of the Louis Gros estate. This was divided between his four children, and Gustave and Colette Gros combined their shares to form Gros Frere et Soeur. It is currently run by Colette’s nephew Bernard Gros.

A slightly cooler and higher-toned if less spicy nose reflects notes of various red berries, especially cherry, along with plenty of earth is again trimmed in enough wood to notice. There is fine volume to the round, fleshy and suave medium weight flavors that exhibit good power on the lingering finish that also displays hints of warmth and bitter cherry pit character. This broad-shouldered effort is going to require at least moderate patience.
